വരിക്കുമഞ്ചേരി എന്ന  ബ്രഹ്മിണ കുടുംബ‌ത്തിലെ വലിയപ്ഫൻ നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പടിന്റെ മകൻ അനുജൻ നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാടിന്റെ മേൽനോട്ടത്തിൽ

എട്ട് നൂറ്റാണ്ട്  മുൻപാണ് ഇവിടെ  അദ്യം മന നിർമ്മിച്ചത്.

ഈ മനയുടെ ശിലാസ്ഥാപനം നടത്തിയത് സാക്ഷാൽ പെരുന്തച്ചൻ ആണെന്നും പറയപ്പെടുന്നു

ഇപ്പോൾ ഇവിടെ കാണുന്ന മനയ്ക്ക് 120 വർഷത്തിൽ അധികം പഴക്കം ഉണ്ടാകും

വരിക്കാശ്ശേരി രവി നമ്പൂതിരിപ്പാടാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ കാണുന്ന നാലുകെട്ട് നിർമ്മിച്ചത്.

വരിക്കുമഞ്ചേരി  ആണ് പിന്നീട് വരിക്കാശ്ശേരി ആയി മാറിയത്

മുൻപ് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പടിപ്പുര ഇപ്പോൾ പൊളിച്ച് നീക്കി

കളപ്പുരയും പത്തയപ്പുരയും കൽപ്പടവുകളോടു കൂടെയുള്ള കുളവുമൊക്കെ  ഇപ്പോഴും ഇവിടെ കാണാം

നാല് ഏക്കർ 85 സെന്റ് സ്ഥല‌ത്തായാണ് ഇവയൊക്കെ നിർമ്മിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.

മൂന്ന് നിലയാണ് ഈ മനയ്ക്കുള്ളത്,

1993ൽ ആണ് ഇവിടെ ആദ്യമായി സിനിമ ഷൂട്ടിങ് നടന്നത്, ദേവാസുരം ആണ് ആദ്യ ചിത്രം

പിന്നീട് അങ്ങോട്ട് ഈ മനയുടെ താരപദവി ഉയരുകയായിരുന്നു.
